Lincoln Club Dinner Announces Senator Susan Collins as the Keynote Speaker. Chaplain Kate Braestup from the Maine Warden Service & Congressman Bruce Poliquin to join us Friday, February 7, 2020 as we honor the late Phineas Sprague, Sr.
On Friday, February 7, 2020 (no snow date) The Lincoln Club will hold its 135th Annual Lincoln Dinner in Portland, Maine. These dinners are held every year around the country in honor of our 16th President and one of the Republican Party’s great heroes, Abraham Lincoln. Many elected officials and candidates have been invited. Senator Susan Collins is the keynote speaker! She has confirmed and will give her presentation during dessert.
The dinner will be held at the Italian Heritage Center located on Outer Congress Street, behind the Westgate Shopping Center in Portland. There will be a cocktail hour/cash bar will begin at 6:00 PM with The New York Buffet Dinner which includes a carving station with Prime Rib, Chicken Marsala, Shrimp Scampi, and a vegetarian dish along with salads and side dishes starts at 7:00 PM. The presentation will be presented during the dessert. Tickets are $50 or $80 per couple (you say who is a couple) which includes a membership card and can be purchased by contacting any of the members of the committee, or there will be a limited amount of tickets at the door. Our Guest Minister will be Chaplain Kate Braestrup, from the Maine Warden Service. Our Re-enactors will be from the 3rd Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Private Joseph Donahue and 1st Sgt. Robert & Delia Pierce. Congressman Bruce Poliquin will be joining us, weather permitting, and will recognize the 2019 winner of the Lincoln Club Scholarship, Abigail Foss of Windham, who is attending USM. You will hear from all of them during the evening’s festivities.
The Business Women’s Republican Club (the late Cora Brown’s group) has promoted supporting our local businesses for more than 75 years. Many of the sponsors are long-time Portland & South Portland small businesses who serve our community and employ many local workers to help keep Portland a vital economic force. Come help us thank our multi-generational businesses for their support of The Lincoln Club and also for their continuing support of Portland’s economy.
Tickets must be purchased from one of the aforementioned Lincoln Club members to assure that there will be enough room. We accept cash or checks and there is an ATM at the Italian Heritage Center.
Barbara Campbell Harvey of Portland was elected as Secretary of the Maine Republican Party in 2015 and unanimously re-elected in 2017, 2019, and 2021. In addition to her vast experience with Republican political organizations across Maine, Ms. Harvey also has served in a variety of positions for well-known organizations such as the Maine Education Loan Authority Board, LearningWorks, First Radio Parish Church of America, and Friends of the Blaine House. Ms. Harvey received her Master’s Degree in political science at Northeastern. She lives in Freeport, Maine.
