more Apr 22, 2021 On February 23, 2021, former Cumberland County District Attorney Stephanie Anderson was elected as the new Chair of the Cumberland County Republican Committee. She served as D.A. for twenty-eight years.
Stephanie immediately initiated a strong push to recruit volunteers from the CCRC to work together to promote or oppose legislation in Augusta. She's been assisted by numerous CCRC members, including Cathy Nichols, George Vercelli, Annie Christy, Gina LeDuc, and many others.

more Apr 19, 2020 On April 16, legislative Republicans submitted a letter to the Governor voicing their own concerns along with questions from their constituents. The original intent was to allow the Governor to respond, rather than communicate through press releases.
News organizations have subsequently obtained the letter with plans to report on it. Therefore, we are making it available, unfiltered, for the public to see.

Unfortunately we will not be able to have our April meeting that was originally scheduled for next week. The CCRC Executive committee has been able to meet via conference calls so that we may plan accordingly under these current circumstances. I want to take this opportunity to communicate a few things.

"One person, one vote is a bedrock American principle. Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is a direct violation of that principle and threatens the rights of all Mainers and delegitimatizes our election process," said Dr. Kouzounas.
The people's veto effort will be managed by the Maine Republican Party's new ballot question committee, led by Chair Kouzounas.
