Stephanie Anderson: New CCRC Chair Initiates Legislative Action Group
On February 23, 2021, former Cumberland County District Attorney Stephanie Anderson was elected as the new Chair of the Cumberland County Republican Committee. She served as D.A. for twenty-eight years. Stephanie immediately initiated a strong push to recruit volunteers from the CCRC to work together to promote or oppose legislation in Augusta. She's been assisted by numerous CCRC members, including Cathy Nichols, George Vercelli, Annie Christy, Gina LeDuc, and many others. more

You can download free PDFs of the 6x9 inch "flyer" version, which can be distributed freely, via email or print, etc. We also have produced a special Postcard version, with the 6x9 scorecard on the front and abbreviated research info on the back, along with THREE FORM FIELDS that a town, county, organization, or person can fill out, save, and then print and mail to their constituents. more
April 16 Letter to the Governor from Maine's Joint Republican Caucus 129th Legislature
On April 16, legislative Republicans submitted a letter to the Governor voicing their own concerns along with questions from their constituents. The original intent was to allow the Governor to respond, rather than communicate through press releases.

News organizations have subsequently obtained the letter with plans to report on it. Therefore, we are making it available, unfiltered, for the public to see. more
News from the Chair, Ellie Espling
I hope this message finds you well during this challenging time. As you may know, we were unable to hold our regular CCRC meeting in March due to the current COVID restrictions. Unfortunately we will not be able to have our April meeting that was originally scheduled for next week. The CCRC Executive committee has been able to meet via conference calls so that we may plan accordingly under these current circumstances. I want to take this opportunity to communicate a few things. more
Maine GOP Launches People's Veto To Repeal Ranked Choice Voting
Dr. Demi Kouzounas issued the following statement today regarding her filing for a People's Veto to L.D. 1083 to Repeal Ranked Choice Voting in Maine's Presidential Elections:

"One person, one vote is a bedrock American principle. Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is a direct violation of that principle and threatens the rights of all Mainers and delegitimatizes our election process," said Dr. Kouzounas.

The people's veto effort will be managed by the Maine Republican Party's new ballot question committee, led by Chair Kouzounas. more

Next CCRC General Meeting

Next Tuesday, November 16th, 5:45 p.m. Social / 6:30 p.m. Meeting

2nd Floor: Moody's Collision Center, Gorham, 200 Narragansett St., Gorham
Doors will be open and food available beginning at 5:45 pm.

NOTE:
In lieu of a speaker presentation, the Committee will take up the bylaw amendments which have been worked on by the Executive Committee for several months.  There are significant changes being proposed, including calculating the number of municipal representatives, composition of the Executive Committee,  and Standing and AD Hoc Committees. Please review these amendments in advance of the meeting.

Details regarding food:
There will be a catered sandwich, salad, and dessert available for $15 per person. If you will be joining us for social time and eating at the meeting, please reply to Annalee (azr5209@aol.com).

Drinks will NOT be provided. You are welcome to bring your own (including alcohol if you wish).
