The videos from the "Stop Open Borders" event, hosted by the Gray Republican Committee with 44 additional co-sponsors, are online! The program featured Rep. Larry Lockman as the Keynote Speaker, as well as Border Patrol agent Robert McArdle as the second speaker, and the Gray Republican Committee Chair, Peter Falkenberg Brown, as the intro speaker. In addition, Dr. Demi Kouzounas, the Chair of the Maine GOP, gave a Special Report.
This essay was the basis of a presentation at the program “Stop Open Borders: Say No to Poverty, Crime, and Tyranny” on July 29, 2020, hosted by the Gray Republican Committee. A video of the presentation, along with videos of the other speakers, are linked to on this page.
I start with a question–a dilemma that does indeed have an answer. How can good-hearted, ethical, moral people make the suggestion to “stop open borders”? The first few words of John 3:16 are: “For God so loved the world.” With imagination, one can sense that God looks down at the world and sees all human beings, of every color, race, creed, and nationality, as sacred individuals born with the light of God dwelling in their hearts.
Pelosi's speech ripping was especially shocking because President Trump had ended his speech with such uplifting words; words that one would think any patriotic American could resonate with. Thus, her actions were even more jarring.
Videos for Event: November 20, 2019, Windham Veterans Center, Windham, Maine
Here are the videos for the November 20th event on the dangers of socialism. One "full event" video, and one for each of the five speakers. Congressman Bruce Poliquin, Peter Falkenberg Brown, José Mayoral, Dr. Demi Kouzounas, and Joe Reagan.
This essay was the basis for the first speech at the event of the same name, on November 20, 2019, co-hosted by the Gray and Windham Republican Committees with the co-sponsorship and support of 50 additional organizations and leaders. Around 100 people attended.
Socialism would destroy America’s economy and freedoms because it’s a totalitarian system rooted in hatred, envy, and revenge that gives political and economic power to a bureaucratic élite who inevitably become corrupt as they steal from the masses whom they set out to liberate. As socialism removes economic and political freedoms, it crushes the human soul and turns its citizens into jailers and slaves. Personal dreams and ambitions fade away, and society descends into bored mediocrity, corruption, poverty, fear, and death.
The first speaker was Peter Falkenberg Brown, the Chairman of the Gray Republican Committee. The essay from which his speech was birthed can be viewed here.

First, liberals and conservatives need to join together and affirm that we want to be free and that living a life of freedom requires thought and free-flowing dialogue. Totalitarians don’t like freedom of thought at all.

What is government but a collection of individuals working together to manage the affairs of a larger population? As individuals, each government worker has a choice. Will they recognize their equal status with every citizen of their country and work as servants to protect the sacred rights of all, or will they be corrupted by their power, as Lord Acton warned, and steer their government toward tyranny?

"The Immigration Crisis at the Southern Border"
May 8, 2019 ~ Gray, Maine
In the flurry of opinions about immigration, border walls, compassion for immigrants and their children, economics, and an influx of crime, there is a larger, more urgent, and civilization-changing crisis: the real probability that open-borders immigration would destroy American sovereignty and exceptionalism.

"One person, one vote is a bedrock American principle. Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is a direct violation of that principle and threatens the rights of all Mainers and delegitimatizes our election process," said Dr. Kouzounas.
The people's veto effort will be managed by the Maine Republican Party's new ballot question committee, led by Chair Kouzounas.
